How to Measure

Measuring Your Drain: A Six Step Guide!

1 Determine if the cover will fit inside a raised lip or overlap the edges. If the cover is inside the lip, then make a small allowance so the cover is not too tight.

2 If the cover is sitting on top of a flat surface, then add sufficient overhang to prevent the cover from slipping into the drain—maybe 30 to 50 millimeters.

3 For cutouts, always measure from one edge of the drain or plate.

4 Always allow a small amount for clearance around pipes so that it is easier to fit in place. 5 mm should be enough.

5 When measuring downturns, check the height and subtract 5 mm so that the cover sits on the drain top and not on the floor.
